What do you do with children's data?
Each school's data stays its own. Handwriting reading is opt-in, the assistant never sees a name, every mark has a history, and a student's records can be erased on request. Old records are swept on a schedule instead of being kept for ever.
Is my school's data kept apart from other schools?
Yes. Each school's data stays its own. Automated tests try, for every role, to read another school's records, and fail the release if they can.
Does the AI see students' names or marks?
No. The assistant is given the teacher's own sentence and counts, such as how many papers are marked. It is never sent a student's name, answer, mark or identifier.
Can a student's records be erased?
Yes. A student's records can be erased on request.
How long is data kept?
Old records are swept on a schedule instead of being kept for ever. The periods are set with each school, so ask the team for the ones that would apply to yours.
Is there an audit trail?
Every mark has a history. WISCA keeps who changed it, when and why, in a record that cannot be edited afterwards. Nothing that names a child is copied into that record.
How is consent handled?
A school records parents' consent before a student has a digital record, and each student's consent is recorded for handwriting reading. Parent logins are made only after the school records that consent.
Where is the data stored?
WISCA is hosted on Cloudflare's network. The database has an Asia-Pacific location and the application runs from Singapore, next to it. WISCA does not promise that data stays in India. The Privacy page has the detail.
Which outside services see data?
Only if a school switches them on. The assistant uses an AI provider and gets only a teacher's sentence and counts. Handwriting reading sends cropped answer areas to the reading provider the school is set to. A school reads a written notice about each before it chooses.
Who can see my child's marks and results?
The student's teachers see their classes' marks. The student and their parents see a result only after the teacher shares it. Administrators see counts only.
Where can I read the privacy policy?
The Privacy page sets out what is collected and why, and the Terms page sets out the rules of use. For a direct question such as whether data is sold or shared, the team can answer in writing.
Does the school sign a data agreement?
Schools approve how their data is processed. For the wording of the agreement, ask the team.
What happens to the scanned pages?
Scanned pages follow the retention periods set with the school and are removed by the same schedule as other records. They are not shown to other schools.
Does this chat collect my data?
The chat itself does not set tracking cookies. If you type a question, the words are kept with email addresses and numbers hidden, to see which questions people ask. You share contact details only if you choose to leave them with the team. The public website separately offers optional analytics and advertising measurement; both stay off until you agree. You can change those choices in Cookie settings. Marketing tools are not loaded in the school app.
